In group therapy not only do you get to see that other people are struggling in the same way that you are but you can also learn what has helped them. You get to see how the skills that you all, are learning can be applied in different ways.
Therapy groups are particularly helpful for kids and teens because it allows them to see that others struggle in the same way that they do. Groups that focus on certain times of life or certain transitions can be particularly helpful for adults.

In this therapy group for preteens 11-14 learn about each different emotion and what it feels like in our bodies and our minds. We will also learn different ways to cope with these feelings when they start to feel overwhelming. We’ll learn DBT skills and calming sensory somatic activities. This is a Neurodivergent Affirming group.

In this group teens with ADHD learn about how their ADHD might be impacting their lives. The focus will be on teaching them how to work with their own brains so that they can be as successful as possible academically and socially. They will learn executive functioning skills and how to harness their unique brain as a superpower! This group is particularly helpful because it helps teens to feel less alone when they might feel isolated with their struggles or different from their peers.
Teen Anxiety Group in Folsom, CA
In this group teens who might be experiencing anxiety explore their anxiety and ways to cope with it when it becomes too much. This group will learn how to manage anxiety using DBT and CBT skills to cope with stress and build distress tolerance. They will also learn tools like mindfulness and somatic calming tools.
